Managed Portfolios: A wider range of global themes to invest

We recently asked a simple question in the community: how are you playing the defence theme?

The responses were quite revealing. Many of you mentioned direct stocks, which is expected given how much access to global markets has improved. At the same time, the largest group said they are not actively tracking this space.

This is not because the interest is missing. It is because it is not always clear what to track, and more importantly, tracking it consistently over time is difficult.

That is where things start to break.

Once you move from an idea to building a portfolio around it, a new set of decisions shows up. Which companies should you include? How many positions should you hold? How should you allocate capital? And how do you keep the portfolio aligned as the theme evolves?

This is the gap we have been working on.

1/ Managed Portfolios on Vested

As part of this, Vests on Vested are now called Managed Portfolios.

The product itself is not new, but it has evolved. What started as simple baskets has become more structured portfolios built around specific ideas, strategies, and allocations. The new name reflects this more clearly.

At the same time, DIY Vests remain unchanged. If you prefer building and managing your own portfolios, that approach continues as it is.

2/ Expanding the range of global ideas

As investing shifts from stocks to ideas, access alone is not enough.

The requirement now is access to a wider set of opportunities. Our focus is to continue expanding the range of portfolios across different themes and strategies, so that when you think about an idea, there is a way to invest in it.

This includes portfolios built around long-term themes, research-backed strategies, and different approaches such as growth, balanced, and defensive allocations, across areas like AI, EVs, SpaceTech and more.

3/ A simpler way to act on those ideas

Managed Portfolios are designed to simplify execution.

Instead of deciding what to buy, how much to allocate, and how to manage the portfolio over time, you can choose a portfolio aligned to your view and get a structured, professionally managed exposure.

In practice, this does not replace DIY investing. Many of you will likely use both approaches together.

You can explore Managed Portfolios directly on the app.
