Hello Vested Team and Community,
Currently, Vested uses the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method for selling stocks/ETFs. While this is standard, many investors (including myself) would benefit from having the option to choose LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) or at least a Specific-Lot Selection method while selling.
Here’s why this matters:
FIFO often results in older, low-cost lots being sold first, which disrupts compounding and increases taxable gains in some cases.
With LIFO or specific-lot control, investors can strategically sell recent/high-cost units while preserving long-term holdings.
This flexibility is available on many international brokerages, and adding it on Vested would make the platform even more attractive for long-term investors.
Request: Please consider adding LIFO / Specific-Lot Selection as an optional feature in future updates. I believe many users in the community would welcome this.
Would love to hear thoughts from other investors here—do you also feel this feature could help us manage portfolios better?
Thanks,
Manish Kumar Gautam
