Feature Request: LIFO / Specific-Lot Option for Selling

Hello Vested Team & Community,

Right now, Vested applies FIFO (First In, First Out) while selling. While this is the standard method, many investors would like the flexibility to use LIFO (Last In, First Out) or Specific-Lot Selection.

Why this matters:

FIFO forces us to sell old, low-cost holdings first β†’ disturbing compounding and leading to higher taxable gains.

With LIFO or specific-lot, we can sell recent/high-cost buys β†’ keeping long-term holdings safe.

This flexibility exists on many brokerages globally. If Vested adds it, it would be a big plus for long-term investors here.

:point_right: Request: Please consider adding this feature in future updates.
Meanwhile, I’d love to know what the community thinks.

Poll: Which selling method would you prefer if Vested gave the option?

  1. FIFO (First In, First Out) – current system

  2. LIFO (Last In, First Out)

  3. Specific Lot Selection (manual control)

Thanks,
Manish Kumar Gautam

For Indian tax filings we should use FIFO

Yes this is a good idea, it’s supported by other brokers in the US. I think at the end of the day which stocks we sell decides the taxation, following FIFO may not be easy in this case.
